I like to introduce myself to you. My name is Esther Grooters-Colin. I breed with standard wire-hair dachsies since 1998. We have several dogs in different ages, from young to old. Only a small part of them is used for breeding, the rest is retired. But they are members of our family. We have a large garden, where the dogs can play, but they also go for walks outside. There they can run free!
About twice a year we have a litter, all our parents are DNA certified and eye-tested. They have excellent sweet character and are healthy.
The puppies grow up in our home with other dogs, small and large.

I think socialization of the puppies is very important, so we spent a lot of time with them and do different things with them after their first vaccination. We take them by car to the town. So they won't get carsick. Outside they can make contact with other people and hear lots of strange noizes and see strange objects.
We breed different colors, depending on the parent-combinaton we make. Last years I like to breed the unique color "dapple". In all other coats and sizes of the dachshund this is a common color. But we hope to built up this remarkable color again in the standard wire-hair.
